Frequently asked questions about the Call Recorder
On this page you can find the answer to the most frequently asked questions about the Call Recorder.
Click on the question in the list below, to jump directly to the answer:
Can I also record conversations from my fixed-line phone?
Yes, but not with the Call Recorder, because that one
only records online conversations taking place on the computer.
To be
able to record conversations from a traditional fixed-line phone, you
need an adapter that connects the phone line to the microphone
connection of the computer.
In combination with our other product, the
PolderbitS Sound
Recorder and Editor, you can then also record your fixed-line calls,
though not fully-automatic.
The kind of adapter you need is for sale at
Recall Calls in The Netherlands. For more information please see the
website of Recall Calls at
http://www.recallcalls.nl/producten/retell_157_UK.htm.
In the recording I hear an echo of
the other party's voice, which I didn't hear during the conversation.
What is causing this?
The voice of the other party coming out of the computer
speakers, is picked up by your microphone again. The microphone signal
is digitized and then send to the Call Recorder, which takes a fraction
of a second to complete, so the voice of the other party is again
recorded with a small delay. This causes the echo.
To solve this problem, use a headset or earphones instead of speakers.
Chances that the microphone then still picks up the lower-volume sound
of the headset speakers are slim.
Will this also work with Magic Jack?
No, Magic Jack is an external device that plugs into
the USB port and the audio does not go through the computer sound card.
You can only record from communication software programs that use the
sound card or a (USB) headset connected to the PC.
I have paid before but lost my Access key.
Do I have to pay again?
No.
Registered users can enter
PolderPlus, the
customer service area on this site.
On PolderPlus you can have your last Access key being re-sent to your registered E-mail
address.
If the Access key does not activate the software anymore, you can apply for a new Access key inside PolderPlus.
Will my Access key still work if I upgrade my computer?
Maybe not, but this does
not mean that you will have to
pay again in such event.
The software does require another Access key on every other computer.
This has all to do with the built-in copy protection mechanism.
If you ever get a new computer, or if you change the configuration of your current
computer in such a way that the software thinks it is running on another system, then
registered users are always entitled to get a new Access key without additional charge.
Registered users can enter
PolderPlus, the
customer service area on this site, to apply for and receive a new Access key instantly in
such cases.
The software also enters a new and fully functional
7 day trial period in these cases, so
you will have plenty of time to arrange for a new key before the
7 day trial runs out.
If you want to activate and use the software on more than one computer,
you will have to buy additional licenses. Registered users can buy
additional licenses with a
5 Euro discount
through
PolderPlus, the customer service area
on this site.
Is my registration good for Life?
Yes.
In the unlikely event that we go out of business, we will make sure that an unlocked
version or Access key generator will be available. We will also make updates available
from time to time. Most updates are free, but we may charge a fee for major new functionality.
Do you ship the software on CD or DVD?
No.
We only deliver the software by download over the Internet.
This eliminates additional costs for shipment and handling and is also environment
friendly.
You can
download the setup program for the
Call Recorder and execute it to install the software on your computer. A fresh install always starts a
7 day fully functional trial period. To activate the software
beyond the
7 day trial period, you apply the Access key that you will receive after your
payment is processed.

How much will my card be charged for in my local currency?

card in your local currency according to the current exchange rate.
Your credit card provider applies the exchange rate. For more information, please contact
your credit card provider.
Does the price include sales tax?
No, the price does not include tax, because it depends on where you live whether or not you have to pay tax.
